Music (Komet Amplification) was opened by Holger Notzel and Michael
Kennedy in 1998 as a repair business specializing in vintage guitars
and tube amplifiers. These days, most of our time goes into building
the Komet™ Amplifier, but we still do offer repairs and restorations
on a limited basis. Contact us if you have a classic Fender™, Marshall™,
Vox™, or any other all tube amplifier in need of service. Sorry,
but we do not work on printed circuit board amps, transistor amps, or
hybrid solid state/tube gear. We also don’t do cosmetic restorations,
such as cabinet recoverings, re-plating of metal parts, etc. When we
restore a vintage amp, we take great care to use only period-correct
parts and components. |

| We are intimately familiar with virtually every classic amp, and we know what they are supposed to sound like in perfect working condition. This experience helps us to voice and tune an amp beyond simply fixing functional problems. If you wish to have Komet Amplification work on your combo amp, it is usually sufficient to send us just the chassis to limit shipping expenses. The amplifiers cabinet and speakers are not needed for most work. Before you send your amp, call us and discuss details of the work to be performed. Unauthorized, unexpected shipments will be refused and returned. The bench fee for repair work is $65.00 per hour. All packaging, shipping, and insurance expenses are the responsibility of the customer. Contact us for details. |  |
