The Komet and Constellation sound samples

The following sound samples were played by Alex Garcia. Alex is a studio musician and can be contacted at alexgrt@excite.com. The guitars were played straight into the Komet™ head with no distortion or "boost" effects used. All samples were recorded using a vintage Marshall 4x12 cabinet loaded with Celestion Pre-Rola G12H30s with 014 cones.

Sample #8 - This is the Komet Airbrake. Alex repeats the same lick while going through the 5 fixed attenuation steps, and finally engaging the variable attenuation to bring the amp all the way down to bedroom level.

Sample #9 -

This is another take of sample #4, only this time it’s not a Komet, but a Trainwreck Express. We get asked to compare the Komet to the Express a lot, probably because the Express is also an EL34 amp designed (and built) by Ken Fischer. The Komet and the Express are quite different in terms of power (60 Watts vs. 34 Watts), headroom and bottom end. The Komet is louder, bigger sounding, and more versatile. The Express was designed and built to be the ultimate Rock Lead amp. Many believe it to be the most harmonically complex amp ever, and used Expresses routinely sell for $25,000.00+.
